I had a conference in Richmond the Thursday after Memorial Day so we decided to turn the trip into a family vacation. We lucked into getting a place in Williamsburg for the week and had a blast. We spent a ton of time in the pool but we did venture out a few times throughout the week. We played in the York River, road a a ferry across the James River for no other reason than to ride a ferry, explored the ships at Jamestown, went miniature golfing with "nice pirates" and over all had a great time. LW2 went swimming for the first time and we got $100 for listening to a timeshare sales pitch. There are a few advantages to being a poor student - people believe you when you say "we don't have the money for this right now". The conference went well but the highlight of the week was defiantly playing in the pool.

Gal decided that we needed to introduce LW1 to the wonderful world of miniature golf. The mini golf place had a pirate theme that LW1 thought was a little daunting at first. Once we told him these were nice pirates he was more than willing to hit the links. LW1 would grab the ball place it about six inches from the cup and yell "And now you GOLF IT IN!"He really did have a good time. By the end of 18 holes LW1 decided he needed to use Gal's club so they traded.

LW2 didn't really know how to react to the pool...it was fun...it was scary...it was wet. Overall she handled the situation fairly well but she did look really cute so that's all that mattered.



LW1 would have spent the whole week in the pool if we would have let him. The first day he was a little hesitant about being in the big pool but by the end of the week he was having a great time.
